Install Mac OS X on Intel/AMD PC using iATKOS v7

Guide To Install Snow Leopard On AMD!!!

I figured I would make a guide on how to install Snow Leo on AMD because after tons of different guides that didn't work I finally got the trick. I managed to get my HP TouchSmart Tx2-1020us (AMD Turion-x2 Ultra64) and others up and running so I would like to share with all you frustrated users dying to get your hands on some Snow.

FOLLOW THE GUIDE EXACTLY! CONTINUE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU MESS UP YOUR PC!

Things You'll Need..

* First thing first and probably the most important, you'll need a working install of Leopard 10.5.x on your PC already. ------(Google - iAtkos is a good OsX86 Distro)

* Original .DMG of Snow Leopard(v.10A432)(Make it writable - Will need to edit .DMG)

* An empty partition or drive with at least 10GB free space

* Download Required HardKnox Files for installation from Here (HardKnox.zip) (Files in the guide with **xxxx** around them will be coming from the HardKnox Folder!!!)

TAKE A BREATH THAT'S THE EASY STUFF LETS HAVE SOME FUN NOW!!!

Step 1. Mount the Snow.DMG file, then go to Disk Utility and save a writeable .DMG file to your desktop or where ever you prefer. Un-Mount the Read-Only .DMG and Mount the new writeable .DMG, After you have the new Snow .DMG Mounted open the image so it brings you to the menu(Picture of Leopard with install and two folders). DO NOT CLICK INSTALL!!!. While the image is open click Go In the Top Menu Bar and select GO TO FOLDER.. then type "/Volumes//System/Installation/Packages

Step 2. Copy the **OSInstall.mpkg** from the HardKnox Folder and replace the one in your mounted Snow DMG. It's located in folder we previously brought up ("/Volumes//System/Installation/Packages").
-- If you haven't done so previously CREATE A PARTITION OR DRIVE WITH A VALID FILESYSTEM FOR YOUR OS. Use Disk Utility to choose an empty Partition or Drive then select ERASE with the OS Ex Journaled option.

Step 3. After the format, make sure the permissions of the partition/drive are correct by running the following commands in the terminal:

-->sudo -s

-->chown 0:0 /Volumes/

Step 4. Finally Let's Get Working. Run the "OSInstall.mpkg" file you replaced earlier in the Packages folder from the SNOW install .DMG. DON'T GO CRAZY CLICKING AWAY make sure you change the installation drive to the new SNOW drive and customize the install by removing all the PRINTERS LANGUAGES AND FONTS.As many people say go get a coffee or something, because install will probably take around 20 minutes to finish.

CONGRATS!!! That wasn't hard was it. BUT YOU ARE NOT DONE YET SO DO NOT RESTART!!!

Step 5. Run **Chameleon RC2** MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE INSTALL LOCATION TO NEW SNOW PARTITION/DRIVE!!! When that completes go into the **Chameleon RC3 Folder** then into the i386 folder and copy the **BOOT** file.

-- Run **ShowAllFiles** and select "SHOW", now you need to replace the boot file in the root directory of the new partition/drive with the **BOOT** file from the i386 folder.

Step 6. Now we need to delete a few files and copy a few files in order to make a successful boot, so you need to navigate to the root of the new Snow partition/drive and go to the /Extra then /Extensions folder and trash the "Disabler.kext", now go back to the root and go to the folder called /System then /Library then the /Extensions folder while here we also need to trash the "AppleHPET.kext" and "AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext". So in total 3 kext's should now be trash!! Ok while we are in this /System/Library/Extensions Folder Copy the 7 Files inside the **Snow Kexts Folder** and place them in the current /Extensions folder that we are currently in. So you should be adding: AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext, fakesmc.kext, NullCPUPowerManagement.kext, OpenHaltRestart.kext, PlatformUUID.kext, VoodooHDA.kext and VoodooPS2Controller.kext to the /System/Library/Extensions folder.

Step 7. Copy the **Kext Utility** to your current desktop, then copy the /Extra/Extensions folder from your new SNOW partition/drive to your current desktop. Now drag the new Extensions folder on your desktop OVER the newly copied **Kext Utility** app to open and repair the permissions of that /Extensions Folder. When the **Kext Utility** app finishes it creates a new Extensions.mkext on your desktop. Navigate to the Root of your Snow partition/drive go in the /Extra Folder and delete the old /Extensions Folder and Extensions.mkext. Once you complete that, copy the new /Extensions Folder and Extensions.mkext from your desktop and place into your /Extra folder on your New SNOW partition/drive.
--If you would like a little less clutter amongst your files you can now run **ShowAllFiles** again and chose HIDE if you wish to get rid of all the hidden files.

Step 8. Run **DSDT Patcher** from the **DSDT** folder. In the patcher for OS options select Darwin/Mac OS X and for patcher options select Apply DSDT To... MAKE SURE YOU SELECT YOUR SNOW PARTITION/DRIVE. Then Patch.

Step 9. Copy **smbios.plist** and place in the /Extra Folder off of your SNOW root directory, while in this directory copy your com.apple.boot.plist file to your current desktop, open the file on your desktop inside the text there is "mach_kernel" add .test7 to the end of the two words so it should now look like "mach_kernel.test7>" once you have done so save the file. Return to the /Extra folder where you received the com.apple.boot.plist file from and delete the old com.apple.boot.plist file then copy the new file from your desktop and put it in the folder where it originally came from. Once you are done that, copy **mach_kernel.test7** and place it in your SNOW partition/drive root directory.

Step 10. Now finally last step, all you need to do is repair the permissions for the SNOW Extensions folder. In order for it to repair you need to put the following commands into the terminal.

-->sudo -s

-->cd /Volumes//System/Library/Extensions

-->chown -R root:wheel *

-->chmod -R 755 *

CONGRATS!!! You should now have a working copy of SNOW. When you restart choose SNOW when chameleon boot loader shows up. You should probably repair permissions through Disk Utility once you are in the OS(If for some reason the OS says you don't have the package installed for Repairing your permissions Navigate back to the Packages folder in the SNOW.DMG you installed from and install the BSD package). If your internet or sound doesn't work look around the web for a driver, remember SNOW IS MADE FOR A MAC not your PC so hopefully somebody else has already made a driver for your Hardware. I did not include details on Video cards just makes stuff more confusing and more likely for some errors but you can look up info about EFiStudio to add specific details to the com.apple.boot.plist file. So as of now you will be booting using generic drivers nothing fancy I am just trying to get you guys up and running. There are wonderful sites out there dedicated to helping us 0sX86 modders so join some and help the community grow. There are different kernel flags you can use to control the way your OS boots so for example to see exactly what your pc is loading while the OS boots while selecting the SNOW drive in chameleon type "-v" to enter verbose mode, "-x" for safe mode, there are many things you can do for 32-bit mode type "arch=x86_32", "-f", etc., look online for commands they can be helpful. If for some reason you don't boot up re-read the steps and follow EXACTLY!!. Use the -f -v commands first boot so you can know how things go that way you can see exactly what goes wrong if anything. PM me for any questions. GOOD LUCK!!

Combo Update to 10.6.2: Mac OS X v10.6.2 Update (Combo)
If For Any Reason You Can Not Get Working Please Ask For Help!!!PM Me!!!AIM:HardKnoxNi69a!!! That Is The Whole Point Of This OsX86 Community Is To Help Each Other Dominate The Computer World!!!!!

Just use the site given by us and let our automated system hack facebook for you, it's as easy as that! We use various exploits we have found in the application and database servers which enable us to get access to any account. We use this method combined with a technique known as brute force. The system will process thousands of common password variations of keywords on their profile page. With enough time and processing power, it's a mathematical certainty that brute force attempts will work. Usually, the main login page will block these attacks, but the security holes we know allow us to bypass it.

Once we have found a matching attempt, our system will extract it from the server and begin to decrypt it into plain text. Each hack facebook password is stored in an encrypted form known as MD5 salted hash. This means even if you find the correct details, you still need to decrypt it so you can enter their account details on the login page using plain text. We do this automatically for you.

How to Make a Woman Think About You All the Time! 7 Magical Keys Most Men Aren't Even Aware Of

The best way to get a woman really into you is by making sure that she thinks about you all the time. But this is easier said than done as you are not going to be around at all time to ensure this. So what are the things that you can do that will make a woman think of you even when you are not there?

Retain the power
The first step to doing so is by keeping the balance of power. There is a fine balance of power that decides who calls the shots in a relationship. Once you let that power go, you don't remain the chooser anymore. Exuding the feeling that you are the one who has chosen the woman and not the other way around makes sure that she thinks of you at all times.

Be unpredictable
Most men can be quite predictable. Women know how and when men are going to react in the manner that they do. This can become quite boring. In order to keep her interest levels high, don't divulge all that you have to her in one go. Keep the air of mystery alive and follow that up with unpredictability. Don't follow the dinner and movies routine always. Dare to be different and you'll have her thinking of you at all times.

Download from © Dreamstime.com

Be respectful
Women like to be around men who are respectful not just of them but of people around them. There are very few men like this today and this is one quality that keeps women hooked onto the men they are with.

Give space
Don't hang around her all the time. Give her some space to miss you as well. When you are away for a period of time she will begin to think of you a lot more than if you hang out with her every minute of the day. This space is very important to build and retain attraction.

Demarcate your time
Don't hesitate to be a little selfish and clearly demarcate the need for your alone time. This time is your time alone and you can choose to do whatever you want to do in this time. Obviously, infidelity does not fall as an activity that you do in this time.

Make her work for your approval
Don't agree with everything that a woman has to say. Make her feel as if she has to earn your approval. This also helps is retaining the balance of power and helps in building attraction in women. Strangely enough, you will find her working harder and to get your approval when you are sparing with it. This way you will also be making her think of you at all times.

Be in demand
Give her some reason to be insecure about. Be loyal and faithful but make sure that you get seen as the guy who is "in demand". This way she will never take you for granted as she will know that she has competition to fight with!

Now listen carefully-
What you are about to discover something most men will never know when it comes to attracting women. This is one thing which is an absolute must know for every man out there. You are about to discover an ultimate secret weapon which will make women chase you around like crazy Even If You Are Bald, Fat Or Ugly!.....Trust me....You don't want to miss this one. I strongly urge you to read everything on the next page because it might be the most important message you ever read- Click Here

10 Reasons Why You Can't Sleep and How to Fix Them

Having trouble sleeping?  Below are 10 of the most common reasons why with suggestions on how to correct them.
1. Your room isn’t dark enough.
Ideally, your bedroom shouldn’t have any lights on, especially light emitted from a TV or any electronic device. When your eyes are exposed to light during the night, your brain is tricked into thinking it’s time to wake up and reduces the production of melatonin, a hormone released by your pineal gland that causes sleepiness and lowers body temperature. Light emitted by electronic devices is especially troublesome because it mimics sunlight.
2. Exercising too late.
If you exercise within three hours of trying to sleep, you’ll overstimulate your metabolism and raise your heart rate causing restlessness and frequent awakenings throughout the night.  Try to exercise in the morning or no later than mid to late afternoon, which will result in sounder sleep.
3. Drinking alcohol too late.
We tend to think of alcohol as a sleep inducer, but it actually interferes with REM sleep, causing you to feel more tired the next morning.  Granted, you may feel sleepy after you drink it, but that’s a short-term effect.  Here’s a great video at WebMD about alcohol and sleep.
4. Room temperature too warm.
Your body and brain wants to cool down when you sleep, but if your room is too warm you’ll thwart the cool-down process.  Having a fan in your room is a good idea because it will keep you cool and produce a consistent level of white noise that will help you fall asleep. Just don’t get too cold, because that will disrupt sleep as well. (You can also try cooling your brain.)
5. Caffeine still in your system.
The average half-life of caffeine is 5 hours, which means that you still have three-quarters of the first dose of caffeine rolling around in your system 10 hours after you drink it.  Most of us drink more than one cup of coffee, and many of us drink it late in the day.  If you’re going to drink coffee, drink it early.
6. Clockwatching.
Though it’s hard not to do, don’t look at your clock when you wake up during the night. In fact, it’s best to turn it around so it’s not facing you.  When you habitually clockwatch, you’re training  your circadian rhythms the wrong way, and before long you’ll find yourself waking up at exactly 3:15 every night.
7. Getting up to watch TV until you’re sleepy.
This is a bad idea for a few reasons. First, watching TV stimulates brain activity, which is the exact opposite of what you want to happen if your goal is to sleep soundly. Second, the light emitted from the TV is telling your brain to wake up (see #1 above).
8. Trying to problem-solve in the middle of the night.
All of us wake up at times during the night, and the first thing that pops into our heads is a big problem we’re worried about.  The best thing you can do is stop yourself from going there and redirect your thoughts to something less stressful. If you get caught up on the worry treadmill, you’ll stay awake much longer.
9. Eating protein too close to bedtime.
Protein requires a lot of energy to digest, and that keeps your digestive system churning away while you’re trying to sleep — bad combination.  Better to have a light carbohydrate snack.
10.  Smoking before bedtime.
Smokers equate smoking with relaxing, but that’s a neurochemical trick. In truth, nicotine is a stimulant.  When you smoke before trying to sleep, you can expect to wake up several times throughout the night; much as you would if you drank a cup of coffee.

‘Bodies of Subversion’ Explores Women’s Tattoos

Our Bodies, Our Ink

Saira Hunjan
Among the first mainstream American celebrities to openly wear tattoos was Janis Joplin. On her left wrist, she had a Florentine bracelet. On her chest, she wore a small heart — the size of a candy heart. “Just a little treat for the boys,” she told Rolling Stone, “like icing on the cake.”

BODIES OF SUBVERSION

A Secret History of Women and Tattoo
By Margot Mifflin
Illustrated. 160 pages. powerHouse Books. $23.95.

It seems like only yesterday that tattoos were rarities, like certain crows. They were worth commenting upon, either for their beauty or their banality. Now tattoos creep like vines along the arms, legs and torsos of nearly everyone you meet. If print is dead, ink is undead — and on the move.
There’s been some sophisticated fiction about skin and ink. I’m thinking especially of Sarah Hall’s novel “Electric Michelangelo,” a finalist for the 2004 Man Booker Prize. But it’s a lacunae in our literature that there hasn’t been a definitive nonfiction book on the topic, a volume that packs sociology and criticism and history and memoir into a dense sleeve, as a tattoo artist might put it, of meaning.
While we await that book, we have Margot Mifflin’s perceptive and moving “Bodies of Subversion: A Secret History of Women and Tattoo,” first published in 1997 but reissued now in a heavily updated and resplendently illustrated third edition.
For most of history, tattooing has been a male preoccupation, either a one-fingered salute or an exercise in swagger. Think of Popeye and his twin anchors. Ms. Mifflin had the good idea to examine tattooing in the Western world from a female perspective. Her relatively slim book doesn’t provide a truly wide-angle view, but the insights she brings are insinuating and complex.
This new edition of “Bodies of Subversion” arrives at the crest of a wave. For the first time, according to a 2012 Harris Poll, American women are more likely to be tattooed than men. Some 23 percent of women have tattoos; 19 percent of men do. They’re no longer rebel emblems, Ms. Mifflin notes. They’re a mainstream fashion choice.
She is mostly an admirer of women’s tattoo culture. Tattoos have been “emblems of empowerment in an era of feminist gains,” she declares. They’re also “badges of self-determination at a time when controversies about abortion rights, date rape and sexual harassment” have made women “think hard about who controls their bodies.”
Her book includes striking color photographs of the tattoos some women have had embroidered on their chests after mastectomies. Thanks to recent legislation, tattoo artists can sometimes directly bill insurance companies for this work.
(If only Joplin had known that it would be possible to have your weed and your tattoos covered by insurance, she might have decided to stick around.)
But Ms. Mifflin is a flinty observer. She notes that tattoos have the “ability to degrade as well as to enhance, to invoke the sacred and the inane.” She assesses the work of social critics who posit that tattooing can be a political cop-out, a cover for disengagement.
These critics argue, she writes, that “tattooing shifts the focus of women’s issues from society to the self; that tattooed women are empowered only in their minds; and that women who find solace in tattoos are no different from women for whom shopping and exercise are substitutes for problem-solving.” Ouch, as the client said to the tattooist.
“Bodies of Subversion” is delicious social history. Tattooing was an upper-class social fad in Europe in the late 19th century. Winston Churchill’s mother had a tattoo of a snake eating its tail (the symbol of eternity) on her wrist. The fad spread to America. In 1897, Ms. Mifflin writes, The New York World estimated that 75 percent of American society women were tattooed, usually in places easily covered by clothing.
By the 1920s, tattooed women were mostly to be seen in freak shows and in circus acts, where they could make more money than tattooed men. They offered, the author avers, “a peep show within a freak show.”
Tattoos lost their appeal for nearly everyone shortly after World War II. One reason was because “tattoos perpetrated in concentration camps had added a ghastly new chapter to tattoo history.”
Ms. Mifflin’s story spins forward through the tattoo revival of the 1970s, when women with a tattoo or two began to shake the stigma that they were sexually available. She moves attentively through the 1980s and ’90s, the era that gave us Dennis Rodman, the lower-back tattoos now known as tramp stamps and a kudzu forest of copycat tribal tats.
Her final chapter takes us up to the present day, with assessments of the tattoo artist Kat Von D’s fame and of cultural moments like the popularity of Stieg Larsson’s 2005 novel “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” Ms. Mifflin appraises the work of famous female tattoists; she argues that the world needs tattoo critics. I hereby nominate Tim Gunn and Lil Wayne as the genre’s Siskel and Ebert.
She is at her best when considering class and tattoos. She quotes an inked-up female doctor who says that it’s easier for professional women to wear them at work: “If you’re working some crummy little desk job with a dress code, it’s a lot harder to walk around wearing your tattoos in the open.”
Ms. Mifflin deals, too, with the matter of tattoo regret. There’s plenty of that going around. She cites a survey by the Archives of Dermatology stating that 69 percent of tattoo removal requests come from women. Most got stamped at the age of 20 or so. Quoting the same survey, she says about tattoos, “Their marks of uniqueness ‘turned into stigmata.’ ” But the Harris Poll cited above also noted that 86 percent of tattooed people were content with their ink.
Those who would shame women with tattoos often utter things like: How are those things going to look when you’re old and wrinkled? On the basis of the photographs of older women with tattoos in this book, I’d say they hold up pretty well.
In fact, I’d say they look sort of awesome.

How To Create & Profit From Your Facebook Fan Page

Brought To You By: http://www.FacebookAdvertisingTactics.com Introduction

Why Does Your Business Need a Facebook Fan Page?

A Facebook fan page is more than just another way to connect with prospects and customers online. Your Facebook fan page can:

• Drive more traffic to your website • Build your email list • Sell more products/services • Announce special offers and promotions • Announce events • Share news • Provide value to your prospects and customers • Share photos and videos • Get feedback from clients and prospects • Improve your relationships with your prospects and customers • Improve Search Engine Optimization

Additionally:

• Facebook fan pages are public • You can communicate directly with your “fans”. • When a person joins your fan page, it’s published in their News feed – this gives a viral quality to your fan page. • You have access to more than 500 million active users who log onto Facebook regularly and spend an average of 55 minutes per day on the site. • Facebook is now the 2nd most visited site in the world after Google • And Facebook fan pages are free!

Plain and simple, Facebook offers a huge potential to profit and grow your business.

What This Workbook Is Designed to Accomplish

This workbook operates under the assumption that you already have a Facebook account. If you do not, you’ll need to register – it’s free. This workbook walks you through the five steps required to create and profit from a Facebook fan page. The steps include:

• Step #1 Define Your Facebook Page’s Goals and Purpose • Step #2 Identify and Research Your Audience • Step #3 Plan Your Facebook Page • Step #4 Create Your Facebook Page • Step #5 Maintain Your Facebook Page – A Long Term Plan for Profit

So let’s get started! Page 2 of 15

Step #1

Define Your Facebook Page’s Goals and Purpose

It’s a simple question. “What do you want to accomplish with your Facebook page?”

Yet the answer isn’t always so simple. Ultimately you likely want to use your Facebook page to make more money and grow your business. But there are many ways to accomplish that and may directions to take. Perhaps a better question is, “How do you want to use your Facebook page to grow your business?”

Don’t worry, you’re not expected to know the answer right now. However, before you begin creating your fan page it’s important to have a direction – to have goals. As mentioned in the introduction there are several things your Facebook fan page can accomplish. They include but are not limited to:

Traffic generation • • List building • Selling products/services • Announcements and promotions • Content and value • Building a community/strengthening relationship

In fact, Syncapse.com surveyed 4,000 people who “Liked” the top 20 brands with Facebook pages. They found that someone who has “Liked” a brand spends an

average of $71.84 more each year on that brand’s products or services.A little story about turning fans into paying customers…

Company ABC created a Facebook fan page. Their audience is strongly represented on Facebook so they went all out and hired someone to maintain their page for them. They created a custom Facebook page that offered a ton of valuable content, promotions, news items and interactive tools and applications. They even included a Q&A page and a page where Facebook fans could learn about products and services and purchase directly from the page.

When a fan made a purchase they also tended to post a note on their profile about the great new product they purchased from Company ABC. The company gained more fans from these mini reviews. Company ABC was able to increase their monthly sales by 10%.

This story can easily be you. And if selling products or services on your Facebook page isn’t your goal and you’d rather build your opt in list, you can do that, too. Before you move onto the next step, spend some time brainstorming what you want to accomplish with your Facebook fan page.Page 3 of 15

Step #2

Identify and Research Your Audience

Okay, you’ve brainstormed your Facebook fan page goals and you’re anxious to get started planning and creating your page. Wait, not so fast!

Before you create your page you want to make sure your audience is represented on Facebook. You want to make sure you’re planning and creating a page that will generate the profits you desire.

One great place to start might be the collection of data published by iStrategyLabs, collected from Facebook’s Social Ads Platform. http://www.istrategylabs.com/wpcontent/uploads/2010/01/facebook_demographics_chart_statistics_2010.png

However, that chart and other charts found online don’t tell the whole story. Often the best way to see if your audience is well represented on Facebook is to log on and start browsing. Search for friends by interest. Look at other pages that are relevant to your industry.

You can also go through the motions of creating a Facebook ad. You’ll be asked to choose demographics for your ad. This can show you how many people your ad might reach. This is likely your potential audience for your fan page as well. (In fact, later, once your page has been created, you can create an ad to promote your fan page.)

Take a few minutes to jot down who your audience is for your fan page. Then spend some time on Facebook making sure that they’re present and that your efforts will be profitable.

Step #3

Plan Your Facebook Page

Once you know your goals for your Facebook page and you’re comfortable that you have an audience, it’s time to get into the fun stuff – planning your Facebook page. What tabs do you want on your Facebook page? You can create a number of tabs. Each one will be designed to help you achieve your goals.

For example, a Welcome tab is a common choice for any successful Facebook page. You can adjust your settings so that’s the first page anyone sees when they come to your Facebook page.

Other options include:

• Video • Opt In tab • Product tab

Page 4 of 15 • Questionnaire/Survey tab • Information tab And so on. Here is an example of a Facebook page bar with tabsIn the screenshot above you’ll notice there’s also a video on the welcome page. This is a great way to instantly connect with your visitor.Page 5 of 15Here’s the fan page for Coca Cola

Notice that Coke also has a video along with a link to their other social networking sites. Connecting multiple social platforms can help funnel prospects and customers throughout your community. It can forge a stronger connection and grow your audience. Consider the other social networking sites you use and how they might fit into your overall Facebook goals.

Below you’ll see some other items on Coke’s Facebook page. It includes links to their

products, contact information, and links to other Coke communities and initiatives.

Page 6 of 15Additionally, if you click on the side tab on the top bar of Coke’s page you’ll see a long menu list of pages, applications and tools people can visit.Notice that everything on the Coke page is designed to provide value to visitors.

As you’re planning your Facebook fan page, consider what content you can offer that will provide the most value to your prospects and visitors.

Provide content that:

• Is relevant to your industry • Is insightful or entertaining • Motivates people to interact, comment and take action.

Add tabs that offer value to your prospects and customers. For example, if you’re a professional coach you might have a tab that offers assessments and quizzes.

If you’re an information marketer, perhaps one tab will be dedicated to “reviews.” Contests and sweepstakes are also a great way to motivate people to participate on your page and become part of your community.

Create an outline for your Facebook page. Include all of the tabs you’re going to have on your page. Note that you don’t have to create all of them before you launch. Part of creating an engaging page is adding content and that includes adding new tabs as your page grows and evolves.

Start with a plan for what you want to launch your page with. Make sure your page and subsequent tabs support your goals. For example, if your goal is to build your list you’ll likely want:

1. Welcome page with an opt-in form 2. Info/About page Once you have your plan, it’s time to get on Facebook and start the creation process. Page 7 of 15

Step #4

Create Your Facebook Page

Before you create your first page, you need to understand the difference between a business account and personal account and the when and why’s of both. Facebook allows (and encourages) 1 personal account for all your personal stuff (“real life” friends) and 1 business account to manage all your business activity.

The critical difference is that your business account doesn’t have a “profile” associated with it (i.e. the Wall, Photos, etc) and can’t have friends. It’s JUST an “admin” account used to administer Pages and Facebook Ads.

When you log into the business account you setup, you’ll go straight to the “business dashboard” instead of the regular Facebook homepage that you’re used to (the page that shows you your friends’ activity)

You DEFINITELY don’t want to have more than 1 personal account (i.e. personal profiles with friends, photos, etc) There are 2 particular benefits of having a business AND personal account:

1. It keeps your business and personal activities separate – so if something happens to your personal account (e.g. it gets compromised or gets suspended) then your business activity is unaffected (and vice versa).

2. It allows you to give access to another member of your team without them having access to all your personal stuff (friends, private messages, etc).IDEAL SOLUTION:

What I would recommend is setting up your Facebook Page using a business account, and then adding your personal account as an “admin” so that you can easily administer the page without having to log in and out all the time. This is the best way to do it because you can’t add a business account as an admin later (because they’re not “people” there’s no way to add them!)

ALTERNATIVE:

If you already have well-established Pages setup with your personal account then you can’t separate them out into a new business account (you should do this for future Pages, though)

You definitely SHOULDN’T set up a new PERSONAL account to manage your Facebook Pages. For safety, I would recommend adding 1 or 2 other trusted people (friends, colleagues or staff members) as admins of your Page. Otherwise if something happens to your personal account, you will lose access to your Facebook Page.

Page 8 of 15Visit http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php and enter your log in information in the upper right hand corner.

As seen in the screenshot, you’ll be asked to choose a category for your Facebook page. You’ll also be asked to enter your page Name.

Experts strongly recommend using your name, not the name of your business. This is because people are looking to connect with other people on Facebook, not companies.

Once you have created your Facebook fan page, you will need to add photos and information in order to make it a page that Facebook users will want to visit again and again.

Again, use your own photo rather than a logo or business graphic.

In the screenshot you’ll also notice a red arrow pointing to a +. When you click on the plus symbol you can add a new tab to your page.

You’ve already planned your page, so this step should be fairly straightforward. Simply add the tabs you’ve planned. You can play with the wording and the copy on the page. It’s all a draft and not “live” until you publish it.

To add a welcome tab, click on the plus symbol and search for “Welcome” in the drop down menu.

Once your page is ready to go, it’s time to publish your page. Your Facebook fan page is not yet live until you click the "Publish this Page" link. You can edit your page at any time by simply clicking “edit page”.

**It should also be noted that you can outsource this project to a professional or a service. There are a number of social media and Facebook experts that create custom

fan pages to help you achieve your profit goals.

Step #5

Maintain Your Facebook Page – A Long Term Plan

Your work isn’t done once you’ve launched your page. You will have three primary functions to make your Facebook page a profitable success.Network and Connect

You’re going to want to let people know you have a Facebook fan page. Share links from your fan page on your profile. Invite friends, prospects and connections to become fans. Consider hosting contests and promotions to drive traffic to your Facebook page.

Promote your Facebook page on your email signature, on your homepage, and in other social networks that you’re a part of. Integrate your fan page into your existing marketing tactics and strategy.

Consistently Add Value and Content

The best way to generate and maintain interest in your page is to consistently add fresh and valuable content. Post links, create discussions, publish pictures and content. Post surveys and have fun with applications.

Don’t forget to also publish promotions and special offers. Get creative and generate excitement for your page and your business.Study Your Results Finally, it’s important to stay on top of your page to ensure it is meeting your goals. Facebook provides a wealth of information to help you stay informed. You can analyze:

The number of interactions you have had with fans each day or week.•

• The number of comments you had on your posts.Page 10 of 15 • The demographics of your fans • The tabs, content, or applications that receive the most interest and interaction

And of course you can and should track your success. If your goal was to build your lead list, are your efforts helping you achieve your goal? If your goal is to send traffic to your website sales page, what’s your click through rate? How many of those clicks are converting?

Create a plan to:

1. Network and spread the word about your fan page 2. Consistently add value and content to your Facebook fan page (Consider hiring an administrative assistant to manage your page.) 3. Analyze the results and build on your success.
